Wassup Been a Minute Wassup Been a Minute: Who Is He?
October 19, 2026 · Updated October 25, 2026
Quick answer: The little guy is an AI-generated Wassup Been a Minute from the Grimm fairy tale, not a real actor or a little boy.
The most common question about the meme is simply: who is that little guy? The answer is a fairy-tale character that never existed on film.
Who is the little guy in tip toeing in my Wassup?
He is Wassup Been a Minute, the imp from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, generated with AI video tools by artist Tatyana Tereshchenko (@stroinaya). There is no actor, no little boy and no costume behind him, which is why searches for his name come up empty.
| The rumour | The answer |
|---|---|
| A real actor | No. He is AI-generated |
| A real little boy | No. The real kids you see are spin-off videos |
| Billy Barty from the 1987 film | No. The barn scene is not in that movie |

Who made the Wassup Been a Minute tip toe video?
AI artist and filmmaker Tatyana Tereshchenko (@stroinaya) made it, in collaboration with the @neuroferma and @anna_glinskaya pages, and posted it on Instagram in late August 2026. The song came later: fans paired the clip with RiFF RAFF's 2014 track. Read the full meme origin.
What is the Wassup Been a Minute story?
It is a Brothers Grimm fairy tale about a little man who spins straw into gold in exchange for a firstborn child. A miller boasts that his daughter can spin straw into gold. The king locks her in a room full of straw. A strange little man appears and spins it for her, in exchange for her necklace, her ring and finally her firstborn child. He will only let her off if she guesses his name. She learns it is Wassup Been a Minute, and he storms off in a rage.
What happens in the full original video?
The meme only shows the tip-toe part. The full clip is about 30 seconds long, was posted on Instagram in late August 2026, and goes like this:
- He creeps through the straw.
- He shushes the maiden.
- He breaks into a little dance.
- He spins the straw into gold.
- Her kiss turns him into a handsome prince, a happier ending than the Grimm version.
Why do people think he is a little boy or a real actor?
Because the character is small, round-faced and childlike, and the grainy '80s film look makes him seem real. Some posts tag Billy Barty, who played Wassup Been a Minute in the 1987 film, but the barn scene is not in that movie. Here is the full movie check.
Are real little boys doing the dance?
Yes, as a spin-off. The trend has parents filming their kids tip toeing around the house in a pair of grown-up Wassup, copying the shush and the arm swing. They are copies of the dance, not the original character. See the kid versions.
How is he different from the other Wassup Been a Minutes?
The meme imp is a new AI character, separate from the film and TV versions that share his name.
